This networking event will work as a platform to discuss diversity issues faced by the Latin American neuroscience community.

After an introduction of the ALBA Network activities by Dr Elaine Del Bel (FORP, Brazil - ALBA Advisor), Dr Ana Silva (Facultad de Ciencias, Universidad de la República, Uruguay - ALBA Board of Directors) will present ALBA's recommendations to reduce the opportunity gap facing the Latin American neuroscience community. These are summarised in the commentary "Addressing the opportunity gap in the Latin American neuroscience community" (Silva, A., Iyer, K., Cirulli, F. et al.) published on 16th August 2022 in Nature Neuroscience.

This will be followed by an introduction of the Young IBRO Committee activities by Dr Manuella Kaster (Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil - Young IBRO member) in a video. We will conclude by a discussion with the audience on diversity issues faced by the Latin American neuroscience community and how to address them.

Snacks and drinks will be served during the networking part of the event.
