My goal in joining Alba is to gain informations about the question of inclusivity in scientific research, to collaborate with new individuals, and to stay informed about events related to neuroscience research.

I am interested in joining you because I want to be part of an organization that gives more visibility to neuroscience and its importance in global mental health. In addition, I want to contribute from my profession to other people who may need it.

I am joining ALBA to foster collaboration, promoting equity, inclusion and diversity in neuroscience. as an advocate for brain research and neuroscience outreach, I believe ALBA’s mission aligns with my goals to contribute to a more inclusive and diverse scientific community while advancing research.

I am interested in becoming an active member of the community in order to increase diversity and equity in Neuroscience

The forum empowers young scientists by promoting cross-disciplinary collaboration, sharing research findings, and fostering inclusivity. It organizes workshops and conferences, fostering connections for future collaborations. The forum encourages diverse perspectives, ensuring scientific advancements are applicable to diverse populations. It connects individuals with experienced professionals, breaking down barriers and promoting equal opportunities in science.

I am a Sikh neuroscientist working in Europe. Sikh scientists in the western world face numerous challenges due to their underrepresented status. These challenges range from a lack of representation, biases and stereotypes, the struggle to balance their religious and professional identities, and limited access to resources and networks. Addressing these challenges requires a collective effort from scientific communities, policymakers, and society as a whole to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all scientists, regardless of their background. Thus, ALBA network can provide such platform for many such underreprented groups. By becoming part of this network, not only I could represent myself better but also help other underrepresented brain scientists accross globe.

I have always promoted Neuroscience in all its ramifications in Africa. Joining The ALBA Network will give me more opportunities to enhance the promotion of Neuroscience at all levels in Africa (which has been disadvantaged).

Learning more about (and promoting) diversity and inclusion in science.

Science should not have any borders. It should be a place where we are all equal and have the same goal - to push humanity to a better future.

Fixing the leaky pipeline in STEM will be one of the main challenges of my generation of researchers. To contribute to this effort, I'm trying to make a difference in my own lab, and also as a member of the gender equality committee of the Zurich Neuroscience Center. I hope that joining Alba will help to flag and counteract bias in all its forms in the wider neuroscience community.

I want to support equal chances in neuroscience and having a united platform, like ALBA, where as many people as possible are united will have a positive influence on this.

Promoting diversity and equity is crucial for me. As scientist, one of our missions is to encourage the accessibility to science to everyone. "Les êtres humains naissent et demeurent libres et égaux en droits." from the French constitution

Definitely a topic ALBA is working on which needs further support. And I hope to can contribute with my support.
