I jojn ALBA since I would like to support the promotion of diversity at all levels in neursciences research

As a young scientist I was incredibly naive about the gender gap in science and issues such as unconscious bias. As I got older, however, I increasingly found myself sitting in meetings, one of the few female faculty in the room and I started to ask myself where all the women had gone?
I currently live and work in Denmark: a country that can be proud of the fantastic strides it has made with respect to gender equality in society. I am part of a new organisation working to now ensure that this equality will reach into the science realm where, unfortunately, we still lag behind many countries.

I've decided to join Alba in an effort to promote greater diversity and equity in neuroscience research.

I am seeking to establish connections with other researchers who share my research interests and work with neuroscientists from minority groups. I am also interested in providing guidance to students and early-career researchers.

The ALBA network represents the voices of many - I want to support this initiative and learn how I myself can contribute to a more diverse science landscape.

I am very interested in the events and activities of this network. I would like to participate more actively!

I am joining the ALBA Network because it aligns with my commitment to promoting equity and diversity within the brain sciences. The ALBA Network, established by FENS, IBRO, and SfN, provides a global platform to address and reduce disparities in neuroscience, supporting the inclusion of underrepresented voices and perspectives. By joining, I aim to contribute to the network’s mission of creating a more inclusive research environment, where diverse backgrounds and experiences can drive innovation and enrich the field. Being part of ALBA will allow me to connect with like-minded professionals, collaborate on initiatives that enhance access and opportunities, and support systemic change within neuroscience communities worldwide.

For an opportunity to get science networking and mentoring opportunity for my career and my students' seeking for research lab or postgraduate schools out of Africa for training in Neuroscience research.

I am co-president of the EDI committee at my research center and I would like to share some resources available. I was also recently a mentor for an ALBA activity at a scientific conference. I want to make a difference and believe I can contribute via ALBA activities and network.

I want to build a network and improve my skills as a neuroscientist. Moreover, the ALBA platform will allow me mentoring opportunities to promote my careers both as a researcher and a learner.
