ALBA represents a global diverse network of individual neuroscientists who are involved in research, education, communication and advocacy, and are committed to supporting and advocating for actions and policies that foster diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in brain sciences across the globe. Because I belong to underrepresented groups, family with low income, woman, LGBTQIA+ community, chronic illness and neurodivergent. Unfortunately, I have experienced social and work exclusion, which has limited my academic opportunities, for example, support from my tutors to be able to apply for international internship scholarships.

Women's contributions to sciences have been underestimated. More than ever, equality among genders must operate in neurosciences (and every other scientific fields).
