I recognise the need to actively dismantle white supremacy in academic neuroscience.

As a woman in neuroscience, I want to promote and support women in STEM so we can push innovation forward and build a better future together.

I am passionate about equal access to education and career prospects in science. Within my local community and using the fora of professional groups that I belong to, I would like to promote equal access to opportunities in science.

As a president of the IBRO-MENA, we plan to have the neuroscience more promoted in the Middle east and the Arab countries where we plan several activities and conferences. Teaming with ALBA will offer better scientific connection in the area of neuroscience which is an area that is undeserved in our region.
This kind of collaboration among neuroscientists will promote expertise exchange and will help students achieve better training in the area of neuro-related projects.

To promote equity and show that it matters to all of us. To network and propose my expertise to whomeever might need it.

I think this is an incredibly important initiative. It is very important to have support in oder to be able to empower the next generation of young (female, but not only) scientists. I believe such network can be instrumental in this.

As a member of Alba Steering Committee, it is an honor to be part of the Alba's mission of incorporating diversity and ensuring equality in the brain sciences.

Diversity and equal opportunities are important for scientific development and society

to represent diversity and highlight the importance of diversity for research.

I think that every person deserves to be treated with respect and deserves good mentorship. A nework like this is important to organize a voice and to be heard and to make a change.

I believe in increasing visibility and representation of marginalized groups in the neuroscience field

As scientists who believe in the powers of interdisciplinary research and the diversity of ideas, I am convinced that promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion is essential for our ability to advance neuroscience and our quests to understand the complexity of the brain and tackle brain disorders.

To achieve this goal, we need to do more to create the space, forums, and platforms for all members of our global neuroscience community to share their work and ideas, to challenge conventional wisdom, to connect with other neuroscientists, and to contribute to shaping the field.
We also must work together to ensure that the leadership of neuroscience organizations, lists of speakers in future conferences, and memberships in influential committees and boards reflect the true diversity of our global neuroscience community.

This is precisely what ALBA network is trying to accomplish, and I am happy to be able to contribute to advancing its mission and strategic objectives.
