The first non-profit, voluntary organisation focusing on Greek and Cypriot women in STEM. Our mission has a dual impact: educational and social. It empowers women scientists in the STEM fields through education and mentoring, while simultaneously advocating for social change.

Scientific questions are universal but the scientific workforce remains skewed, with women and gender minorities still underrepresented. Initiatives such as the Women in Autophagy network promote the careers of these underrepresented groups with a range of free, year-round scientific, mentoring and networking activities for all scientists.

The Women of Color Initiative is a collaborative initiative to address the visibility, awareness, and advocacy of intersectionality and women of color in academic medicine, organized by the Group on Women in Medicine and Science in partnership with the Group on Diversity and Inclusion and the Group on Faculty Affairs, as well as key AAMC staff. 

Established in 2017, Women in STEM is an international organization empowering and inspiring young women to pursue STEM. Currently serving 60+ schools and 3,400+ girls across 32 states and 14 countries, WiSTEM builds social networks for female high school students to succeed and pursue their passion.

This article discusses a new NSF grant and research for the Inclusive Intelligent Technologies for Education Institute. Part of this research takes place at the University of Oregon, led by Daniel Lowd, which aims at purposefully gathering data to develop fair and unbiased learning models for STEM students.
